The tenth edition of the Indian Premier League starts on April 5. Earlier this the team of Rising Pune Supergiants replaced injured Mitchell Marsh with one-day and T-20 number one bowler Imran Tahir. The 37 year- old South African leg-spinner who took 54 wickets in 31 T-20 International matches represented Delhi Daredevils in the last session of IPL 2016 .
In 2015, he was jointly with Nathan Coulter-Nile who was the highest wicket taker from Delhi Daredevils . He has taken 29 wickets in 20 IPL matches . Tahir’s bowling average is 21.48 and once he has taken four wickets in an innings .
BCCI, said in a statement that all-rounder Mitchell Marsh of Australia and Rising Pune Supergiants will not play in the IPL’s 10th season because of a shoulder injury. As a substitute for Marsh, the team has included South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir in the squad.
Tahir was not bought by any team in players auction for IPL 2017. His base price was 50 lakh rupees . He was involved in ‘Registered Available Player Pool’ (RAPP). According to the rules of IPL, the team of Pune can pick any player from the list for the transfer .
