The Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 10 will start from April 5 but Delhi Daredevils have suffered a tragedy before it started . South Africa cricketer JP Duminy will not play in this IPL 2017 season. South African legend all-rounder JP Duminy has withdrawn his name from the IPL 2017 tournament for personal reasons and he will not be seen playing this season .
This information was given by Hemant Dua, CEO of Delhi Daredevils. Hemant said, “We respect their decision.” Due to not having Duminy as a team, we will suffer a lot, but we understand their situation . Talking further, he also said that now his first priority will be to find a replacement for Duminy .
Duminy also disappointed after withdrawing his name and said, “It was a tough decision, but I have taken it only for personal reasons and I thank my franchise for supporting me . I consider myself lucky to play and lead with a talented team . I found it very good to be captain among the best players playing with the Delhi team, hopefully I will get back to the team again soon .
The ending of IPL 2017 just ten days earlier from Champions Trophy is also considered to be one of the reasons for Duminy’s withdrawal. Most of South African players will be able to play in the IPL till mid-May.
However, there are speculations that Duminy wants to give maximum time to South Africa. Duminy is currently playing Test Series on New Zealand tour with the team. After this, South Africa also have to go on a tour of England, where they play against the England team and also participate in the Champions Trophy.
Duminy was the captain of Delhi Daredevils in 2015 and was associated with the team continuously since 2014 .
